35 Years of Thanks

Over the past 12 months you have joined us as we celebrated our 35th anniversary of caring for those with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones, and we would like to thank you for all of your support.

We challenged you to collect £35 in loose change throughout our anniversary year and so far you have raised over £5,000! If you still have a loose change box to return you can do so by bringing it to one of our charity shops or the Hospice. Or, if you are always finding loose change in your pockets or in the bottom of your bag, why not take on the £35 challenge for 2017? Get in touch to request your box!

Our anniversary year also saw us add two brand new events to our calendar. At ‘Lanterns on the Lake’ we invited you to add a message for a loved one to our lanterns, which helped to light up the lake at Shibden Park. This event helped to raise over £12,000 for the Hospice and will be returning in June 2017. The ‘Slip & Slide’ was also new for 2016 as we introduced Calderdale to a 70 metre slide of watery and foamy awesomeness at Woolshops in Halifax. Our thanks go to our fantastic sliders who raised over £4,000!

Our 35th anniversary raffle has also been running across the year, with a top prize of £3,500 as well as other prizes including a 35 piece hamper and two £35 vouchers. If you would like to enter the raffle there is still time, however all of tickets must be returned by Friday 31st March, with the raffle to be drawn on Monday 3rd April. Will the lucky winner be you?

Since opening our doors in 1981 we have cared for over 7,000 patients and their families, none of which would be possible without the dedicated support from our community. Once again we would like to thank all of our supporters for helping us to celebrate an achievement that is both ours and yours. Because you care, we can!
