Coronavirus: Information for Visitors

As the impact of the coronavirus outbreak is being felt by the whole community, we are taking action to ensure our patients’, staff and volunteers’ safety whilst at the Hospice.

We are now limiting the number of people visiting our Inpatient Unit. Our patients are being asked to identify key contacts including closest friends and family and priority is being given to these people. ALL visitors must call ahead prior to each visit and will be asked a series of screening questions.

If you are feeling generally unwell or are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19, DO NOT visit the Hospice and refer to for further advice. If you are unsure if you are able to visit, please contact the Hospice on 01422 379151 and ask to speak to the Nurse in Charge.

We are an independent and local charity with a mission to ensure that our patients, and those close to them, live with the best possible quality of life

Overgate Hospice has been at the heart of the Calderdale community for over 35 years and we are here to help people with life-limiting illnesses. Our aim is to try and improve the quality of life for our patients and help them to live life to the full, to the very end. We do this by offering specialist palliative care, comfort and support, free of charge, to patients and their families. We are an independent charity, based in Elland, Halifax and rely heavily on funding from our local community to ensure our care is available for future generations.
