We have been fundraising for this project privately for a number of years and we are delighted to announce that we have already secured £12.25 million to make our redevelopment plans a reality. This has been raised through donations and pledges, as well as the Hospice investing funds from our reserves.

This Hospice investment has been made possible thanks to the success of our Income Generation activities in recent years, careful financial planning and some significant legacy gifts.

As we move closer to completion, we are now inviting the wider community to help us take the final steps in delivering this vision. Every gift – whether given individually, as a family, through a company or charitable trust – will help ensure the new Hospice opens its doors in Spring 2026.

The roof of the new building is now fully installed, and the steel and blockwork linking it to the existing hospice has been completed and bedroom windows are being installed. At the north end of the new In-Patient Unit, roof windows have been installed, which will flood the internal social space with natural light and create a bright, welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Mechanical and electrical works are progressing at pace, with pipework now in place to each of the ensuite bathrooms. Work has also started on the new ambulance driveway, which will provide patients with a dedicated entrance into the new building.

These developments mark another exciting step forward in creating a modern, compassionate space that will support patients and families for generations to come.
