Overgate Hospice needs your help…

Every day we need to raise £6,800 and we couldn’t do it without the help of individuals, companies, organisations - people like you - raising money for us. We are only partly funded by the Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group.

How is the Hospice Funded?

As a charity we are dependent on donations, legacies and fundraising to pay for the care we provide. Overgate Hospice costs £3.5 million to run each year. The Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCCG) contribute towards this amount, however £2.5 million is raised with the support of the generous Calderdale community.

We have an active fundraising programme to generate the £6,800 needed each day to meet our costs.  Fundraising is a vital part of hospice life, as is the friendship and support of the community of Calderdale.  Overgate Hospice stands as a tribute to the commitment and generosity of the many people of Calderdale who provide continual and enthusiastic support to help us carry on caring.

Fundraising Practices

We would like to reassure you about our fundraising practice. We strive to fundraise in the most sensitive, considerate and respectful way that we can; and will never ‘cold-call’ or share your details with anyone. We do need to fundraise to continue in the provision of our care, which is why we will occasionally update you about Overgate news and events, but we certainly do not expect you to give every time, and if you ever feel that this contact is too frequent you need only let us know. You enable us to care for so many people across Calderdale, and it is important to us that you know that we are extremely grateful for your support and would never take it for granted.
