The Big 50 Mile Challenge FAQ's

What is the fundraising target?

Facebook automatically sets a target of £150, however we are asking you to raise as much as you are able for our Big Build Appeal. You are welcome to adjust your target as you see fit for your own challenge.

Is there a registration fee?

There are no costs to register, this is a free challenge to participate in. The fundraising target is automatically set is £150, and any money raised will directly contribute to our Big Build Appeal. We hope you’ll use this opportunity to raise funds to help build our new Hospice.

What if I am unable to walk 50 miles?

We would love for you to amend this challenge into something you would find manageable. Please see some suggestions below: Wheel 50 miles using a bike or wheelchair, lower the mileage and walk 5 miles instead of 50, change the ask to knit or bake 50 items, or create your own challenge! We are so grateful for your support, and we are here to help if you need it.

Where does the challenge take place?

This is a virtual challenge, meaning you can walk any where in the world to clock up your miles. You can stay connected with other challengers by using our dedicated Facebook group, and you are invited to share your pictures on social media using #OvergateBig50Miles.

When does the challenge take place?

The challenge runs from 1st August – 31st August 2024.
