"The Kingston Mills site on Hopwood Lane in Halifax has been operational since 1900 and has developed into a 4-acre 24/7 manufacturing unit. For most of its history the site produced sweets with the 'Riley’s Toffee' chimney becoming somewhat of a local landmark, which many locals will recognise. In 1992 this longstanding site became a McVitie’s factory, producing a variety of cakes & flapjacks, including delicious cakes for the royal family stretching back to the nineteenth century. Around the site we have highlighted our great heritage to ensure it’s something that we recognise daily.
 
Within our colleagues, multiple people have accessed Overgate over the years for support and help with their loved ones. This is why we have chosen to be a sponsor for ‘The Big Brew’ to help recognise the great work Overgate do, not only for those within the hospice, but the community as well.
