Over the last three years, the people of Calderdale have dug deep, given generously, and have made possible the creation of a brand-new inpatient unit – which will lift the care experience we are able to provide, matching the very best anywhere.

Every penny spent on this build has been contributed by you, the community we serve. Thank you – because we can only be here for you if you are here for us. And you have been – magnificently.

Now, we need to finish the last phase in our Big Build project – creating grounds and gardens that will bring the vibrant sights, sounds and smells of nature into the lives of our patients and their loved ones.

Here, you’ll see just some of the plants and garden furniture that will help to create a truly wonderful outside space. Please have a look at the vision we have and then, if you can, give a gift to allow us to buy one of these items from our list.

"My memories of Sinead’s time at the hospice are mostly of her in the garden – like when we wrapped her up and took her out on Bonfire Night to see the fireworks, Sinead sat in her wheelchair, looking up, waving a sparkler in her gloved hand. I come back to the hospice garden most weeks, just to wander down and sit looking at the wonderful views, chatting to her. It’s the place I feel most connected to her."
