Throughout the year Overgate asks businesses and community groups to help support the Hospice by choosing us as Charity of the Year.
Partnering with Overgate provides a perfect opportunity to bring teams and groups back together again, all for a good cause in their local area. The support of the Calderdale community is vital to the Hospice as it enables them to secure their future and continue to provide specialist care to the people of Calderdale.
We have a variety of exciting fundraising ideas to suit all levels of support and a range of existing events and activities that you and your colleagues can really get excited about.
The Halifax Bus Buddies group have chosen to support the Hospice in this way. Ricky Pollard from the group said: “When we get back to normal we have monthly meetings. We hold raffles and the money raised goes to the Hospice. Then every year we have a vintage bus day and again the money raised goes to Overgate. Members of the group have had family and friends looked after at the Hospice so it’s great we can show our support.”
Nikki Scholey, Community Fundraiser said: “There are so many different ways you can support our patients, from holding your own fundraisers (virtual or otherwise) to helping out at our events when we are able to host them again. Each penny raised will help give someone a compassionate, loving and dignified final journey.”
Elland based company Redtronic said: “We have decided to support Overgate as our nominated charity of the year. We feel this is the perfect opportunity to organise some internal events and get our employees back together again. We look forward to raising much needed funds for the Hospice and having some fun along the way. We want to grow our relationship with Overgate and continue to support this fantastic charity”.
