We are delighted to share that Grid Thirteen Design Studio is supporting Overgate Hospice’s Big Build Appeal by designing and fitting two Family Rooms within our new Inpatient Unit and a new Wellbeing Room in the new Day Hospice.

The Family Rooms have been carefully designed as calm, restorative spaces where families will be able to pause, reflect and stay close to their loved ones. Every element of the design has been thoughtfully considered to ensure these rooms feel warm, reassuring and supportive rather than clinical.

The Wellbeing Room in the new Day Hospice will allow patients to access gentle pampering and wellbeing services, including a hair washing facility with a back wash sink, a nail station and comfortable seating for conversation. For some patients, illness or mobility challenges may mean they have not been able to wash their hair for some time, and this room will help restore comfort, dignity and a sense of normality.

By supporting the project through both the design and fit-out stages, Grid Thirteen Design Studio is helping ensure these spaces are delivered with empathy, care and attention to detail, supporting Overgate Hospice’s holistic approach to care for patients and families.

Natalie Fry, Founder and Creative Director of Grid Thirteen Design Studio, said:

“It was essential that these spaces reflected the compassion and dignity at the heart of Overgate Hospice, creating environments that feel supportive rather than clinical.”

We are incredibly grateful to Grid Thirteen Design Studio for their generosity, creativity and commitment to supporting our Big Build journey.
