We are delighted to announce the return of our full events calendar for 2022, including one of our most popular events – the Colour Run! We are celebrating this exciting news with our very own January Sale; if you sign up to any of our four most popular events before the end of the month, you will save on the registration fee!
Included in the sale are the Colour Run, taking place on Saturday 9
th July, the Mountain Bike Challenge on Sunday 12
th June, the Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 21
st May and the Midnight Walk on Saturday 10
th September.
The Overgate Hospice January Sale is the first time we have been able to invite our supporters to all of our events since the pandemic began and signals a return to some form of normality that we so desperately needs. With all events cancelled in 2020, and only a few able to return in 2021, the loss of vitals funds has been a huge blow to us. This year we hope to raise as much as possible to continue our care for generations to come.
Faye Henderson, Head of Fundraising at the Hospice, said; “
When all of our events were cancelled in 2020, the people of Calderdale reacted by doing their own fundraisers at home, colouring the streets with rainbows of support, and donating incredible amounts to our emergency appeals. It’s hard to put into words how thankful we are to the people of this community who have kept our doors open through the two most difficult years we as a hospice have had to face. To be able to welcome our wonderful supporters back to each of our events this year really means the world to us; to see smiling faces again, to be able to thank people in person for their support, it just reminds us just how lucky we are to be part of such a special community. We’re hoping as many people as possible join us in taking on 2022 together!”
One of the Hospice’s supporters, Linda Smith, has been anticipating the return of Overgate’s events since 2020. Linda said; “
Each year we attend the Colour Run as a family and it really is one of the highlights of our year! A chance to be silly while supporting such an important cause. We have already signed up to attend this year and can’t wait to see everyone back and having fun again! My husband is also booked onto their 3 Peaks Challenge and has started training as a New Year’s resolution to get back in shape. Overgate looks after so many people in this community in need of their care, I believe this is one of the things we can do to look after our Hospice when they need our support.”
