We are delighted to announce the return of their popular Mountain Bike Challenge fundraising event.
The event was due to be held in June 2020 however the Covid-19 restrictions forced the Hospice to cancel this event along with all of their other fundraising events. But the Mountain Bike Challenge returns this July, with a 20-mile route taking in some of Calderdale’s best tracks and bridle ways.

The event starts and finishes in the Hospice car park in Elland with the Hospice’s nurses usually setting the bikers off. The route, which goes through Ripponden, Barkisland and Stainland, enjoys some of the best views of the beautiful Calderdale countryside and the Hospice team are hoping for a bright and clear day.

The event is sponsored by Investing for Tomorrow and After Accident and is supported by the Rotary Club of Halifax Calder and Happy Days Cycles who provide marshals as well as manning a water station on the route. The route takes in some amazing scenery passing through Ripponden, Barkisland and Stainland.

Rachel Lumb, Challenge and Events Fundraiser said; ‘We are delighted to be announce the return of our annual Mountain Bike Challenge which has been held annually for the past ten years. Our Mountain Bike Challenge is always a great day out and we love the friendly competition on the day. We hope that lots of Calderdale families will join us as we celebrate our first event after lockdown. I would like to extend special thanks to our sponsors, Investing for Tomorrow and After Accident Care Team Ltd.’
