Our much-loved Garden Party, our longest-running event, will return on Sunday 10th May 2026, once again taking place in the grounds of St. Patrick’s School, Hullen Edge Road, Elland.

Following a year of exciting progress for our Big Build project, we will continue to hold the event away from the Hospice grounds, with St. Patrick’s School providing the perfect setting for a fun-filled family afternoon. The Garden Party will officially open at 12pm, with our mascot, Harold the Hospice Hare, on hand to help us kick off the celebrations.

You can expect an exciting atmosphere with live music throughout the day, alongside familiar favourites and some new additions for 2026, including a bigger BBQ area, a dedicated Pimm’s and cocktail bar, a coconut shy and much, much more. Our popular stalls, games and activities will also be returning, offering something for all ages, with a few extra surprises planned to help make this year’s Garden Party bigger and better than ever.

Our Garden Party remains a true community event, made possible thanks to the incredible support of our staff and volunteers, along with local groups including Friends of Overgate, community organisations and supporters from across Calderdale.

Rachel Lumb, our Community & Event Fundraising Manager, said:
“The Garden Party is always such a special day for our community. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another relaxed, family-friendly afternoon, with lots to enjoy and a few new extras this year too.”

Entry remains great value, with tickets priced at just £1 per adult and free entry for children.

Our Garden Party is kindly sponsored by Michael Wilson & Sons, with special thanks once again to St. Patrick’s School for hosting us.
