Overgate Hospice is celebrating huge success with its overseas challenge events after its Peru Trek 2026 officially sold out, with all places now taken by supporters determined to take on the once-in-a-lifetime adventure while raising vital funds for the Hospice.

The response has been overwhelming, with supporters signing up quickly to take part in the trek and show their support for local patients and families living with life-limiting illnesses. The group will now begin their fundraising journeys ahead of the challenge, helping to raise essential funds to support the Hospice’s care and services.
Building on this success, Overgate Hospice has now launched its next overseas challenge – the Great Wall of China Trek 2027 – giving supporters another exciting opportunity to be part of Team Overgate and take on one of the most iconic wonders of the world.

The interest has already been extremely strong, with 8 people signing up within the first 12 hours of the launch and a total of 15 signups so far. With just 35 places available, the Hospice is encouraging anyone interested to find out more and register early to avoid missing out.

Rachel Lumb, Events and Community Fundraising Manager at Overgate Hospice, said:
"We’re absolutely delighted that the Peru Trek has filled so quickly – it just shows how passionate our supporters are about taking on new challenges while raising money for the Hospice. The excitement around the Great Wall of China Trek 2027 has already been incredible, and we can’t wait to see another amazing team come together to support our patients and their families."

Ellis King, Fundraising Office Manager, who has already signed up for the 2027 challenge, said:
"In 2027, I’ll be trekking the Great Wall of China — one of the most iconic wonders of the world. I can’t wait to take on this incredible challenge, meet some amazing people along the way and, most importantly, raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice, a cause that means so much to me. Every day we see the difference the Hospice makes to patients and families, and being able to take on something like this to support that care feels really special."

The challenge will take place in October 2027 and will see participants trek along one of the most famous landmarks in the world while raising funds to support the Hospice’s specialist care.
