A Night to Remember

Sunday 15 Sep 2019
The annual Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk took place on Saturday 14th September, with over 950 participants taking part and lighting up the streets of Calderdale once again.

Walkers were entertained with music from Pulse Radio’s Rosie Madison and were able to get all glittered up with our very own Glitter Bar before participating in a warmup and then in no time they began their 13 miles.
During the walk they were able to stop off at points to be greeted by our staff and volunteers who were there to hand out much needed refreshments to help give the walkers the boost they needed to get to the finish line where they were greeted with their medals and certificates before filling up with a hot drink and a bacon sandwich.

The event was kindly sponsored by Rosemount Estates who have sponsored the event for the last eight years.
Jess Bailey, Events Organiser commented about the night “What a night to remember. This year’s Midnight Walk was my first and it was amazing! Such a special evening.
We cannot thank our volunteers and sponsors enough for their support as without them this event wouldn’t be able to go ahead! We were so thrilled to see so many walkers and their dogs on the night. The atmosphere was amazing! We cannot wait to do it all again next year!”

The event has already raised an outstanding £50,000 for the Hospice, which will go directly to providing vital end of life care to patients and their families in Calderdale.

Next year’s Midnight Walk will take place on Saturday 12th September 2020 and early bird registration will open in the new year.
