We stole the spotlight at this year’s Winter Fashion Show, held last Thursday at The Venue in Barkisland, and what a night it was. Thanks to the incredible support of everyone who joined us, we raised over £6,000, all in support of people living with life-limiting illnesses who are cared for by Overgate Hospice.

The runway was bursting with energy as our amazing volunteers, staff and supporters took to the catwalk, showcasing eye-catching outfits handpicked from our 17 charity shops — proving once again that pre-loved fashion isn’t just sustainable, it’s seriously stylish!

The event was hosted by our Director of Income Generation, Laura Golding, alongside our Senior Communications and Marketing Officer, Claire Howard, and quickly became one of our most talked-about highlights of the year.

On the night, supporters came together to explore a fantastic range of stalls run by our dedicated fundraisers, volunteers and staff. Each stall showcased unique pre-loved gems and one-of-a-kind finds from across our charity shops, helping to create a brilliant atmosphere and perfectly capture the sense of community that makes events like this so special.

Our Deputy Head of Retail, Sharon Quinn, shared:
“This show brought our community together in the most fabulous way while celebrating the magic of sustainable, pre-loved fashion. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise essential funds for the Hospice — you all looked incredible!”

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended and supported the event, the funds raised will help us continue delivering expert, compassionate care to people across Calderdale. These contributions make a lasting difference, ensuring patients receive care with dignity and comfort — whether in our Inpatient Unit, at the Day Hospice or out in the community — while their loved ones are supported and reassured during some of life’s most challenging moments.
