Physiotherapy is used to maintain and help mobility in order to improve the quality of daily living. This is achieved via exercise programmes, the use of walking aids, and through looking after patient’s movement patterns. Additionally, we look to ensure that the patient's respiratory system is functioning as effectively as possible, which in turn helps stamina thus improving the patient's mobility.

The aim of physiotherapy is to maintain safe and effective movement for as long as possible. We occasionally use physiotherapy for home visits to allow discharges to be as smooth and safe as possible. Physiotherapy is also used for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions that are associated with palliative care, the care that we pride ourselves on providing here at Overgate.
