To make the most of your support, please check the list below for items we can and cannot accept. This helps us reduce waste, keep costs down, and ensure we only stock safe and sellable items. We’re so grateful for your kindness and understanding.
Items we can accept
Furniture in good condition (must have fire labels on each individual item of a set attached if upholstered, unless pre 1950's)
Large and small electrical appliances (less than five years old and in fully working condition)
Divan bases and mattresses (in pristine condition and including fire label)
Washing machines and dish washers in working condition
Fridge and Fridge Freezers in clean working condition
Clean, wearable clothing
Books
Footwear
Handbags, Scarves, belts and hats
All jewellery (even if broken)
CDs and DVDs (in original case)
Children’s toys/ soft toys
Puzzles and Games (all pieces intact)
Homewares including Crockery, glassware, cutlery
Pots, pans, and other kitchen items
Home décor (frames, ornaments, etc.) in good condition without chips
Gaming consoles including games
Nursery items (not including car seats, prep machines unless brand new and used cot mattresses)
Vintage Electrical items working or non-working
Local school uniforms
Computer hard drives, laptops and notepads
Lawnmowers in working order
Gym equipment (at our discretion)
If you have clothing and linen that you think are not good enough for sale, we will happily take them for recycling, please just highlight such items to a member of our team when you are donating. We cannot recycle any clothing that is heavily soiled (e.g. covered in paint) or branded workwear.

Please note, our Donation Centre is only able to accept small items of furniture, for example bedside tables and small coffee tables. Anything larger than this can be taken to one of our Furniture Shops or collection can be arranged. Please call Brighouse- 01484 718346 or Hebden Bridge- 01422 845731.

We are so grateful for your kind donations. To help us make the most of your generosity, please be aware that items we’re unable to sell do cost the Hospice to dispose of. Below is a list of items we are unable to accept for this reason.
