Overgate Hospice offers a wide range of nursing, medical and other support services to our patients, their families and carers. Our dedicated team consists of full and part-time employees and bank staff, and is supported by more than 700 volunteers.

Working at Overgate Hospice

Can I arrange a visit to the Hospice?

For some roles a visit to the Hospice is suitable and a chance to ask questions before a formal application is given. This is very much at the discretion of the manager, due to time constraints it cannot be guaranteed due to the volume of applications. However, we are very open to this if it is appropriate.

Do you keep my details on file?

We can keep your details on file for 6 months, but would need you to sign an agreement that you are happy for us to keep your data. It is easier to put in a new application form with a supporting statement for any new vacancy that you would like to apply for.

How do I apply for a role?

In the interest of fairness, we do not accept CVs for current vacancies, you will need to email HR@overgatehospice.nhs.uk and request an application pack or you can download the application pack from our website. Within this there will be an application form and equal opportunities form, along with a job description and information on the closing date.

Is Overgate Hospice part of a pension scheme?

You will be automatically enrolled into the Group Pension Scheme with our provider Royal London. The NHS Pension Scheme for those currently contributing to it is transferable for certain clinical roles.

What would my holiday entitlement be?

27 days plus bank holidays pro-rata. The leave runs from 1st April to 31st March each year.
