We offer a Counselling Service to patients, their relatives, friends and carers. Overgate’s Counselling Team is led by the Counselling Co-ordinator, and is supported by volunteer counsellors who are either qualified counsellors or counselling students in their final year of study.
The team are trained to listen carefully and provide emotional support. They will not give advice but will provide a 'listening ear' and help explore coping strategies based on individual needs.
Bereavement Counselling is available to relatives, friends and carers of patients who have died at Overgate Hospice. Our service operates a flexible ‘open door’ policy so that people can contact us at any point following the death of a relative or friend.
As we build our new hospice, counselling sessions are taking place both at the Hospice and offsite, with virtual and telephone sessions available.
Overgate Hospice is registered with The National Counselling Society. To find out more
