Visiting Reception

The Hospice Reception and shop is open to the public during visiting hours, no appointment is necessary.

Reception hours:

Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm
Saturday 9am to 5pm
Sunday 9am to 4pm

Visiting the Inpatient Unit

Visiting is by appointment only. This can be booked with Reception or by speaking to a member of our Nursing Team.

We ask that all visitors check in with the Receptionist when arriving and inform them when leaving. If visiting outside of the Reception hours, please press the buzzer to the right of the entrance and a member of the Nursing Team will open the door. Please then inform a member of the Nursing Team when leaving.

Visiting the Inpatient Unit is permitted from 9am to 1pm and 3pm-9pm, to give patients a chance to rest in the middle of the day, and again overnight. Visiting outside of these hours can be arranged with the Nurse in Charge.

  • Overgate Hospice is easily accessible and can be located using any SATNAV system with the address above.
  • Onsite parking is available with designated spaces for patients and families.
  • Please ensure you use the main Hospice carpark entrance which is the first entrance on the right when driving up Hullen Edge Road from Jepson Lane, or the second entrance on the left when driving down Hullen Edge Road from Victoria Road.
By public transport
  • The 503 bus route stops on Jepson Lane at the bottom of Hullen Edge Road. The Hospice is then a short walk up the hill.
  • If you are unable to reach the Hospice by car or public transport, please call our team on 01422 379151 to discuss transport options with our team.

If you have been referred to Overgate or are considering accessing Overgate’s services, you are welcome to visit the Hospice and take a tour of our facilities to familiarise yourself with the Hospice.
