On Saturday 22nd May 2021 our challengers are taking on one last epic lockdown walk as they
embark on the iconic Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. The fundraising team are inviting supporters to
take on the 26 mile challenge, which tackles Pen-Y-Gent, Whernside and Ingleborough, with the aim
of completing the trek in less than 12 hours to help raise vital funds for the Hospice.

The current pandemic has had a huge impact on us. With all 13 shops being closed for the
majority of the past year and all major fundraising events cancelled, the loss of income has been
unparalleled. Last year 29 people took on the peaks challenge, raising a wonderful £13,000 and it is
hoped that this years’ challenge will provide another welcome boost to support the continuation of
our care.

With over 33 people already registered to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge, we aim
to make this year’s team of walkers their biggest yet. Due to the success of the 3 peak challenge a
more family friendly 1 Peak Challenge has also been introduced, which consists of a 10 mile circular
route up and around Ingleborough Peak.

Rachel Lumb, Challenge and Events Fundraiser said; “The 1 Peak Challenge promises to be a great
day out. I think it is safe to say that we all have a little bit of cabin fever due to lockdown so we want
to encourage people to join us and also to support the Hospice and raise money for their challenge.
It’s a challenge perfect for all the family, even the dog!”
