We were thrilled to reopen all 13 of our charity shops earlier this month, after being
closed for the majority of the past 12 months.
The Hospice relies heavily on the income of our shops across Calderdale, which collectively bring in
over £1million each year to support the work of the charity. For the safety of supporters, staff and
volunteers each shop has been closed for the majority of the past year, however as restrictions
eased on Monday 12th April the retail team were thrilled to welcome supporters back across all 13
locations.
Fiona Fearnley, Manager of the Todmorden shop said; “After being closed for so long it has been
fantastic to welcome our customers back and to see all of our wonderful volunteers again. We’re
lucky to have been really busy in the days since we reopened and it really does feel great to be back
where we belong.”
Tracey Broadbent, Head of Retail at Overgate, said: “As a team we are overjoyed to be able to
reopen our doors to the people of Calderdale. Our shops are important to the Hospice not only
because of the financial support they provide but also because of the relationships they allow us to
create and maintain with our supporters across Calderdale. We have been overwhelmed by the
support we have received since reopening on the 12th, in both visits to the shops and donations of
items received to help us get back up and running, and we cannot thank our wonderful community
enough for their unwavering dedication and support.”
Tracey added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters for the fantastic
donations we have received in the past few weeks. We would like to ask that anyone who plans to
donate items calls ahead to ensure we have the capacity to accept them. We also kindly ask that
donations are not left outside of our shops when they are closed. Thank you so much for your
patience and continued support.”
